the words are fragments of confessions

Daily Deviation

Given 2005-10-01
ghosts in the machine by ~xerocorp one of a very few pieces in this deviant's gallery that I can only term cyberart. But hopefully someone can come up with a better name for it. ( Featured by oedalis )

:jawdrop: I didn't know that was your work! I've seen it somewhere before....
I love it!

I also saw something similar at Federation Square, with quotes etched on metal plates.

Wonderful work :)

not sure really, i mean, as a group it works really well and allows your eye to bounce around and read them. but if you distanced them, and people had room to walk up and read each one as an individual piece it might be all artsy drama like. either way, still think its a great slice of human nature.

I missed the fact that these are paintings? I thought they were labels on drawers. made sense to me; with the secrets inside the drawers.

The words seem very powerful personal and REAL .That alone with the help of the plain background and the insignificance the numbers and grid suggest makes the whole piece so powerful. It doesn't take much skill but its what i call ' real art' , when i feel real emotions and not just "ooh what a pretty color !"

It's rather haunting...For all we know, one of those phrases could be from one of us.

or i could have made them all up myself ;)

if you search for the numbers on the website
you can access the original confessions..

(but who's to know they weren't all submitted by the same person?)

Unless you did write them all, in which case you must be enjoying all this. :D

I love this. I don't even know what else to say without starting on a month-long rant about everything wrong with my life. I guess this piece just really has alot of emotion in it. Confessions without names, could be any of us.. Awesome work.

Im not going to lie, I have no idea what this whole thing is about. Its interesting how most of the 'sayings' start with the word "I" but then a few dont, also is there any reason the first 'saying' isnt capitalised like the rest? Anywho, congrats on the DD but Im seriously confused on what you where trying to get across with this.

You know, when I first clicked on the thumbnail in the DD box, I wasn't really sure what to expect. I almost didn't click, just because it looked so plain and all... but I'm glad I did.

Very simple in design and concept, but pulled off exceptionally well. It's not very often that I come across a deviation that actually pulls on my heartstrings. Sure, I see pretty pictures and I go "Wow, it's beautiful!" or "A lot of thought was put into that!" but this is... a very different feeling. I could practically hear people saying these things, I could imagine the people sitting at their computers as they typed these confessions.

Just wow. But what's best about this is that everyone can think of a time in their life, at least one time, where they thought at least one of these very same things. I know I've thought several of these. Truly touching.
